Car Shows Go Virtual

  1. Infiniti recently announced upgrades for the 2021 QX50. Luxe models will now include heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, and ProPilot Assist. A new blackout package includes 20-inch black wheels, black mesh grille, black mirror caps, dark chrome accents and gray headliner. Every QX50 will include a Wi-Fi hotspot.   2. Tesla is making improvements to the 2021 Model 3. The base Model 3 will have a range of 263 miles, Performance will have a range of 315 miles, and long-range will have a range of 353 miles. Like most events this year, the car show scene has seen a large number of cancellations and postponements. However, some event organizers are pivoting to virtual car shows to give participants and enthusiasts a little taste of the car show life.

The month of October features several virtual car shows from as far away as California to as close to home as Ballston Spa.

Local favorite The Way We Were Car Show in Ballston Spa traditionally takes place the Sunday before Columbus Day on Front Street in Ballston Spa. This year’s physical show will not go on, but instead organizers will be holding The Way It Is Virtual Car Show on Facebook. There is no cost to enter your vehicle. The Keene Pumpkin Festival in Keene Ontario has cancelled its annual event this month however they are going on with several virtual events including a virtual car show from October 12-16 with a People’s Choice winner being announced on October 19.

Temple City in California will be hosting a Virtual Classic Car Showcase on October 10 and 11. The showcase will feature pre 1980’s antiques, hot rods, classic, customs, muscle cars and more.

The Japanese Classic Car Show, typically held in Long Beach, California, will be taking place online October 3-10 as the JCCS World Matsuri Week. Organizers expect international participation.
